The Ministry is conducting the 113 Annual "Teaching Practice Research Program". Please review the following details for coordination and important instructions.

Details:

1. Program Overview:

Since the 107 academic year, this program has been designed to enhance teaching quality and improve student learning outcomes. It encourages teachers to use personal research funding to explore teaching practices and pursue diverse career development, achieving teaching innovation and strengthening talent cultivation within schools.

2. Program Categories:

According to Article 5 of the Ministry's Guidelines for Subsidizing Teaching Practice Research, the program is divided into 10 academic fields:

  • General Education (including Physical Education), Education, Humanities & Arts, Design, Business & Management, Social Sciences (including Law & Politics), Engineering, Mathematics & Science, Medical & Health Sciences, Biotechnology & Agriculture, and Livelihood Sciences.
  • Since 108 academic year, two new project categories were added: University Social Responsibility (USR) and Technical & Practical Studies.
  • Since the 110 academic year, USR projects have been allowed to apply for multi-year funding to accommodate the nature and needs of these projects.

3. Application Timeline for 113:

  • Start Date for Applications: November 21, 112 (Tuesday)
  • Faculty members must fill out and upload their research proposals online. Applications should be completed at least 10 days before the submission deadline to ensure timely processing by the school.
  • Schools will verify the proposals and submit their feedback by December 22, 112 (Friday). The finalized proposals should then be submitted by the school to the system.
  • Incomplete, late, or non-compliant submissions will not be accepted.

4. Program Review:

Schools must ensure that proposals align with the school's development plans and teaching goals. Teachers' individual research must connect with student learning and teaching resources to maximize program effectiveness. Schools must review proposals based on the following criteria:

  • School Development: Alignment with school teaching features, future directions, and course structure.
  • Faculty Support: Evidence of the school's support for the faculty member's research.
  • Course Compatibility: Ensure the proposed course matches the school's curriculum.

5. New Funding Details for 113:

From the 113 academic year, Ph.D. students hired as teaching assistants or research assistants will receive salary increases from NT$3,000-5,000 to NT$10,000 per month. Schools must align their internal regulations to reflect this new standard.

    • Required in Application: Specify the duration, personnel costs, and job responsibilities in the research proposal.
    • The funding for this will not be subject to the limits set in the Ministry’s guidelines for subsidies.
  • Increased Funding for Faculty Mentors:
