Forwarding information on the “2025 Academic Year Higher Education Media Literacy Curriculum Development Project – Media Literacy Seed Teacher Workshop (Central Taiwan Session)” commissioned by the Ministry of Education and organized by Providence University. Please circulate the information and encourage faculty members to participate.


Description:

  1. Pursuant to the Ministry’s official letters Tai-Jiao-Ji (3) No. 1070211712 dated December 3, 2018, and Tai-Jiao-Gao (2) No. 1070222450 dated January 7, 2019, universities are requested to develop educational resources and course content related to emerging topics in media literacy. The Ministry will include these outcomes in its evaluation of the Higher Education SPROUT Project.

  2. In line with the “Action Plan for Promoting Media Literacy Education,” the Ministry continues to commission Ming Chuan University, Providence University, and I-Shou University in the 2025 academic year to implement the “Higher Education Media Literacy Curriculum Development Project.” The above-mentioned workshop targets teachers in higher education, starting from the fundamentals of media literacy and extending to lesson plan development, interpretation of media phenomena, and practical teaching challenges and solutions. It aims to deepen teachers’ understanding of media literacy and enhance their ability to design relevant teaching materials. This serves as the foundation for future promotion of media literacy courses, development of reference teaching modules, seed teacher training, and faculty co-learning communities across universities.

  3. Details for the Central Taiwan Workshop are as follows:

     (2) Venue: Room 343, Information Office, Jen-Yuan Building, Providence University (No. 200, Sec. 7, Taiwan Blvd., Shalu Dist., Taichung City)
