Pursuant to the University’s Guidelines for the Implementation of Teaching Assistants (opens in new window), the Center for Teaching and Learning (hereinafter “CTL”) oversees TA training and performance management.
Teaching Assistants primarily support instructional activities—such as course preparation, after-class tutoring, leading group discussions or demonstrations. Specific duties include preparing materials, assisting with assessment, building and maintaining course learning platforms (not limited to iLMS), documenting teaching processes (text or video), and other instructional and learning support tasks.
Each semester, CTL holds 3–4 TA training workshops. Performance management items are set by the course instructor. At the start of the term, applicants submit the application form; at the end of the term, they complete an online satisfaction survey and submit the scoring sheet. A CTL TA Review Committee conducts the secondary review. In principle, two awardees are selected each semester: Gold Award—NTD 5,000 plus a certificate; Silver Award—NTD 3,000 plus a certificate.
Application Guidelines: (1) Application Period: Effective immediately until Friday, October 3, 2025. (2) Submission Materials: Email the “Outstanding Teaching Assistant Selection Application Form” (electronic file) to CTL at ctltnua@gmail.com with the subject line: “114-1 Outstanding TA Selection.” The form can be downloaded from the attachment or from the CTL website (“Downloads” → “Outstanding Teaching Assistant Selection Application Form”). (3) Eligibility: Applications are submitted by the course instructor and limited to TAs who have substantively assisted with course instruction or course operations; appointment type is not restricted (part-time assistants and student workers are eligible).
