Description:
A. The Ministry of Education's letters dated December 3, 2018, Tai Jiao Ji (3) Zi No. 1070211712 and January 7, 2019, Tai Jiao Gao (2) Zi No. 1070222450 (for your reference), requested that each university develop teaching resources and offer courses related to emerging media literacy topics. The Ministry will review the outcomes of these efforts and incorporate them into the Higher Education Deepening Program evaluation.
B. In line with the Ministry of Education's "Media Literacy Education Action Plan", for the 113 academic year, Providence University and I-Shou University have been entrusted to carry out the "Higher Education Media Literacy Course Development Plan". The workshop is primarily aimed at university-level educators across the country. It starts with the basics of media literacy, then extends to the process of lesson plan creation, the interpretation of media phenomena, and the challenges and solutions encountered in the teaching field. The goal is to gradually deepen understanding of media literacy, equip educators with the skills to design relevant teaching materials, and lay the foundation for future efforts in promoting media literacy courses in higher education. This includes building reference teaching material modules, training seed teachers, and creating teacher collaboration communities.
