Forwarding information on the “2025 Academic Year Higher Education Media Literacy Curriculum Development Project — Northern and Southern Regional Media Literacy Seed Teacher Training Workshops” commissioned by the Ministry of Education and organized by Ming Chuan University and I-Shou University. Please announce this information and encourage teachers to actively participate.


Description:

  1. In reference to MOE letters No. MOE-Tech(3)-1070211712 (December 3, 2018) and No. MOE-Higher(2)-1070222450 (January 7, 2019), universities are encouraged to develop teaching resources and offer courses related to emerging issues in media literacy. The outcomes of these initiatives will be considered in the evaluation of the Higher Education Sprout Project.

  2. In line with the Ministry’s “Media Literacy Education Action Plan,” Ming Chuan University, Providence University, and I-Shou University have been commissioned in the 2025 academic year to carry out the “Higher Education Media Literacy Curriculum Development Project.”
    The workshops aim to serve higher education faculty nationwide. Topics will begin with fundamental media literacy concepts, extending to lesson plan design, interpretation of media phenomena, and strategies for addressing challenges in the classroom. The program seeks to deepen teachers’ understanding of media literacy, equip them with instructional design methods, and lay a foundation for the continued promotion of media literacy courses, development of teaching modules, seed teacher cultivation, and the establishment of faculty learning communities across higher education institutions.

  3. Details of the Northern and Southern Regional Workshops are as follows:

    (1) Northern Region Workshop

    • Date: Friday, November 21, 2025

    • Venue: 6th Floor Conference Room, Jihe Campus, Ming Chuan University (No. 130, Jihe Rd., Shilin Dist., Taipei City)
